Yttrium(III) chloride hexahydrate (YCl3 · 6H2O) is a white crystalline powder with the chemical formula YCl3 · 6H2O. It is a hydrated salt of yttrium and chloride ions.
Yttrium(III) chloride hexahydrate is used as a raw material for the production of other yttrium compounds, and as a dopant in the production of phosphors for lighting and display applications. It is also used in the preparation of various ceramic materials and in some organic synthesis reactions.
