Boron Nitride Powder, BN Powder
Boron Nitride Powder, BN Powder
Boron Nitride Powder, also known as BN Powder, is a high-purity ceramic powder composed of boron and nitrogen atoms in a hexagonal lattice structure. It is a white, odorless powder that is highly stable and inert, making it an ideal material for use in a wide range of industrial and scientific applications.
BN Powder has a unique combination of properties that make it highly desirable, including high thermal conductivity, high electrical insulation, low coefficient of friction, and excellent chemical stability. It is also resistant to thermal shock and can withstand high temperatures, making it ideal for use in high-temperature applications.
BN Powder is widely used in industries such as aerospace, electronics, and ceramics, where its properties are valued for their ability to improve the performance of various materials and products. For example, it is used as a lubricant additive to reduce friction and wear in metalworking applications, and as a thermal conductor in electronics to dissipate heat and prevent overheating.
BN Powder is available in a range of particle sizes, ranging from submicron to several microns, and can be customized to meet specific application requirements. It is also available in various forms, including powder, granules, and pellets.

Boron Nitride Powder Description
Boron nitride powder is an advanced boron nitride ceramic material available in solid and powder forms. BN powder has high heat capacity, outstanding thermal conductivity, easy machinability, lubricity, low dielectric constant and superior dielectric strength. These properties make boron nitride powder a truly outstanding ceramic material and can be used in high-temperature environments.
BN is also referred to as white graphite. Boron nitride powder is a non-abrasive, white powder with a hexagonal platy crystal structure similar to graphite, but with a much higher oxidation resistance at 800ºC. Boron nitride ceramic powder has high thermal conductivity, low coefficient of friction, high dielectric constant and are chemically inert. Due to those unique properties, it is used in a broad range of applications ranging from electronics, aerospace, oil and gas, ceramic manufacturing and cosmetics.
Boron Nitride Powder Advantages
– Low wettability to molten metal
– Relatively high thermal conductivity with low thermal expansion
– Relatively high thermal shock resistance
– Extremely high working temperature with proper inert gas protection (>3000C has been recorded).
Boron Nitride Powder Applications
Hexagonal boron nitride powder can be used:
– In the fabrication and luminescence study of monolayered boron nitride quantum dots.
– Rare earth boron complexes.
– Boron nitride filled Poly benzoxazine system as a thermally conducting molding components for electronic packaging applications.
– Boron containing ceramic products.
– As a starting material to form boron nitride nanotubes.
– To load silicone rubber and its consecutive effect on its thermal, mechanical and morphological properties was studied.
