Lanthanum Hexaboride Slab, LaB6 Tablet

Lanthanum Hexaboride Slab, LaB6 Tablet

Lanthanum hexaboride (LaB6) slab, also known as LaB6 tablet, is a ceramic material widely used in scientific and industrial applications. It is a refractory material that exhibits excellent high-temperature stability, corrosion resistance, and electrical conductivity.

LaB6 slab is typically manufactured by hot pressing or spark plasma sintering techniques. The resulting material has a high-density, fine-grained microstructure, and high purity. It is available in various shapes and sizes, including square, rectangular, and circular, depending on the application requirements.

LaB6 slab is commonly used as a thermionic emitter due to its low work function, which makes it a preferred material for electron guns used in electron microscopes, scanning electron microscopes, and transmission electron microscopes. It is also used in the production of cathodes for X-ray tubes, ion sources, and particle accelerators.

Moreover, LaB6 slab has applications in high-temperature furnaces as a heating element, thermocouple sheaths, and as a coating for ceramic materials to enhance their thermal conductivity. Its excellent mechanical properties make it an ideal material for use in abrasive cutting tools, wear-resistant parts, and seals.
