Silicon Carbide

Silicon Carbide Ceramics Description

Silicon carbide (SiC), also named carborundum, is one of the lightest, hardest, and strongest technical ceramic materials. Due to its excellent tribological properties in combination with low weight, universal chemical resistance and ready availability, SiC is a frequently used engineering ceramic with a highly diverse range of applications. It is an important material for sandpaper, grinding wheels, and cutting tools.
